A: Any foreign object in a subfloor causes turbulence to airflow causing air patterns that increase needs for more cooling output, lowering ability for controlled air to reach equipment. Debris may also cause complete air blockage creating hot spots and thermo-control issues in the data center. Every 10° rise in temperature lowers your equipment’s MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures) by 50%, shortening the life of equipment.
